Haunted house workday
MERIDIAN — All youth in grades seven-12 are encouraged to attend a haunted house workday Sunday, Oct.17, from noon - 6 p.m. at St. Patrick Parish.
The youth office has reserved some tables at the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary rummage sale on Saturday, Oct. 9.
All proceeds from the youth tables will go toward the Catholic Youth of Meridian activities.

‘Sock-It-To-Me Sundays’
JACKSON — St. Therese Parish seventh-grade - college age youth are invited to “Sock-It-To-Me-Sundays” from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. in the school gym to talk about current events, hot topics or whatever comes up.
Participants are asked to bring a couple of dollars for coffee and a biscuit from a local food service.
LifeTeen meets on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. in the parish hall. A Bible study on “The Person of Christ” is currently going on.
LifeTeen youth are looking for recipes for a Heritage Cookbook they are preparing. Send recipes to the attention of Teresa Kemp at sttheresecc@yahoo.com; P. O. Box 8642, Jackson, MS 39284 or place in the offertory collection.

Youth conference
JACKSON — This year’s youth conference, “The Amazing Race: My Christian Journey,” will be hosted by Christ the King Parish Saturday, Oct. 23.
This conference, sponsored by the diocesan Office of Black Ministries for seventh - 12-graders, will be presented by Father Norman Fischer from Lexington, Ky.
Three breakout sessions on a variety of topics based on the Catholic faith will be held from 1 - 2:15 p.m.
There will be music, liturgical dances, a prayer service, a Mass and social entertainment. Cost is $35.

St. Richard FunFest
JACKSON — St. Richard School Funfest will be held Sunday, Oct. 24, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. along Lynwood Drive. This year it will be a street festival with live music from the Jeff Maddox Band and the Hinds Community Rock Band.
There will be children’s activities, food, arts and crafts. For information call Leta Collins, 601-214-0623.
The school’s Special Kids Day is set for Thursday, Oct. 28, at Colonial Country Club. Activities include a golf tournament, a silent auction and a cocktail awards reception.

Vote for the Flash
VICKSBURG — St. Aloysius School is encouraging everyone to vote for the Flash in WJTV’s Mississippi Mascot Challenge to help the team retain his 2009 title of Mississippi Mascot of the Year.
To vote visit www.gulfcoastsite.com and vote as many time as possible.
Round two ends Saturday, Oct 9, at midnight. The Flash must be in the Top 4 to advance to the final round. Round three begins Sunday, Oct. 10, and runs through Thursday, Oct. 28.
The winning mascot will be notified on the sidelines Friday, Oct. 29.

Edge bake sale
McCOMB — St. Alphonsus Parish Edge youth group will have a bake sale Sunday, Oct. 10.
