Back-to-school
JACKSON — The Back-to-School Kick-Off gathering sponsored by the diocesan Office of Youth Ministry is set for Saturday, Aug. 7. from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at St. Richard Parish gym and field.
Ninth -12th graders are invited. Cost is $5 and includes lunch.
Lock-in at St. Francis
MADISON — St. Francis of Assisi Parish will host a Back-to-School lock-in for all Faithful Followers Friday and Saturday, Aug. 13-14, from 6:30 p.m. - 7 a.m. Registration deadline is Sunday, Aug. 8. Adult chaperones are needed.
Potluck kick-off
McCOMB — St. Alphonsus Parish LifeTeen members are invited to a potluck dinner to kick-off the year Sunday, Aug. 8, in Liguori Hall. Parents are invited and asked to bring a dish to share.
The parish is holding a raffle to raise funds to send three youth to the World Youth Day in Madrid, Spain, Aug. 2011. Tickets are $10 each to win a chance for four hours of babysitting, $15 for a chance to win housecleaning services, and $25 to win a gourment meal cooked in the winner’s home.
Stag Benefit in Natchez
NATCHEZ — St. Mary Basilica C-Club will hold its annual Stag Benefit Friday, Aug. 6, at 6 p.m. in the school cafeteria. Cost is $40 and includes a rib-eye meal.
Lock-in in Meridian
MERIDIAN — The Catholic Youth of Meridian will have a lock-in Saturday, Aug.14, after the 5 p.m. Mass.
Youth gathering
SOUTHAVEN — Christ the King Parish high school youth will meet at Snowden Grove Park for a picnic lunch followed by bowling at Strike Zone Sunday, Aug. 15, at 2 p.m.
Food will be provided. Participants are asked to bring their own drink, money for bowling and snacks. Cost is $3 for shoes and $3.95 per game. Those planning to participate are asked to call 662-342-1073, ctksdonna@aol.com.
Youth choir practice resumes Wednesday, Aug. 18, at 5:45 p.m.
Game trip postponed
TUPELO — The senior CYO trip to the Redbirds game was postponed to Friday, Aug. 13. Participants will leave from the Catholic Life Center at 4:30 p.m. Cost is $6 for the game.
Children ages six-12 who would like to join the parish Cub Scouts are invited to a “water war” game and fellowship Monday, Aug. 9, at 6:30 p.m. behind the gym. Participants are asked to bring water guns.

The welcome back party for the junior CYO will be held Sunday, Aug. 15, after the 10:30 a.m. Mass. There will be a cook-out and water games.
