Ping pong tournament
MERIDIAN — All youth entering fifth - eighth grade are welcome to join the Junior Catholic Youth of Meridian (JCYM) for a ping pong tournament Sunday, July 11, after the 11 a.m. Mass.
Upcoming senior Arrielle Dale recently received the Leadership Award at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Camp and was selected as an all American cheerleader.
Telephone books
JACKSON — The Knights of Peter Claver Junior Daughters are collecting outdated telephone books to be recycled. St. Mary and Christ the King parishioners are encouraged to bring their telephone books to the church or call Gwen McGill, 601-918-6677, to arrange pick-up.
Members of United in Christ Youth Ministry will meet Tuesday, July 13, at 5 p.m. at Sister Thea Bowman School.
Altar server training for new servers and for those who presently serve will be held Monday, July 12, at 5 p.m. at Christ the King Parish and at 6:15 p.m. at St. Mary Parish.
Sports night
MADISON — St. Francis of Assisi Parish Yahweh’s Youth and Faithful Followers are invited to a sports night at Liberty Park Wednesday, July 14, from 6:30 - 8 p.m.
Seventh-12th-graders will help with a service project at Our Daily Bread in Canton Friday, July 16. For information call Mary Catherine George, 601-856-5556, ext. 118.
Cheer & dance camp
VICKSBURG — St. Aloysius School will hold a cheer/dance camp Monday and Tuesday, July 26-27, from 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the gym. Registration is $75.
Early registration is encouraged so that all participants may receive a T-shirt. Participants are asked to bring a sack lunch and drink.
Registration forms are available at ww.vicksburgcatholic.org. Participants will perform for their parents and guests at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 27.
A football camp for ages six through 11 will be offered Thursday, July 29, from 9 - 11 a.m. on the school football field. Cost is $50. Early registration ensures a camp T-shirt. Participants are to wear T-shirs, shorts and tennis shoes or cleats. NO SPIKES.
