Youth Mass, recognition
COLUMBUS — Annunciation Parish will celebrate a youth Mass along with senior recognition Sunday, May 13, at 10:30 a.m. All seniors are asked to sit together. A cake honoring all seniors will be served after Mass.
Graduates blessing
HERNANDO — Holy Spirit Parish will have a special blessing for all graduates during Masses Saturday and Sunday, June 2-3.
Students in eighth-12th-grades, college and graduate school, are asked to call the parish office, 662-429-7851, to provide their names and school graduating from.
Youth Mass, recognition
MADISON — Ben Sylve will hold a free throw and soccer contest in the gym during St. Francis of Assisi Parish Cajun Fest on Sunday, May 20, from 1 - 3 p.m.
Free throw is for boys and girls ages 10-14; soccer is for boys and girls ages six-nine.
Promote the Vote
JACKSON — St. Richard School students recently participated in the Promote the Vote education project sponsored by the Mississippi Secretary of State’s Office.
The school winners were: Stephen Wolf in the art category for third-fifth grades, and Carla LaSala and Christian Turner who both received a honorable mention in the art category.
The project is designed to teach the fundamentals of democracy to K-12 students and encourages civic responsibility.
Our Lady Academy School in Biloxi also participated and won several awards.
Graduating students
JACKSON — High school and college students of the Catholic Community of West Jackson (St. Mary and Christ the King parishes) who are graduating, or have already graduated this year, are asked to submit their name to the parish office before May 23.
Youth opportunities
SOUTHAVEN — High school girls who want to help others, grow in their faith and get to know other teenage Catholic girls are encouraged to spend time with the children of Dehon Village June 3-8.
Participants will work on needed repairs in Dehon Village and cook and serve at a soup kitchen. Registration deadline is Sunday, May 20.
Rising youth in grades 10th, 11th and, 12th are invited to serve in the Sacred Heart Southern Mission (SHSM) area July 22-27. Participants will do maintenance and repair projects through SHSM offices and cook and serve a meal at the soup kitchen in Holly Springs. Deadline for registration is Wednesday, June 27.

‘Shadow Day’
CULLMAN, Ala. — St. Bernard Preparatory School is accepting applications for students in grades seven-11. The boarding school will hold a “Shadow Day” where students can visit classes with a student ambassador and observe the school in action.

Mass, balloon blast
MERIDIAN — All youth in fifth through 12th-grades and their parents are invited to the youth Mass and balloon blast Saturday, May 19.
Youth planning to go to the Catholic Heart Work Camp and their parents are asked to attend an important meeting Thursday, May 31, at 7 p.m. in the parish center. (Note the change in date.)
