MADISON – Elizabeth Card, (above left) a member of the Faithful Followers youth group of St. Francis Parish, serves guest workers from Notre Dame de la Baie Academy in Green Bay, Wis., supper at St. Francis Parish in Madison on Monday, March 19. Eighteen students and three faculty/staff from the academy are spending their spring break working with MADCAAP (Madison Countians Allied against Poverty) in Canton repairing homes for the elderly. This is the eighth year the students have participated in the work trip. Jessie Smith, (inset) a student from Green Bay, said she enjoyed meeting people most and also loved building things. Most of the visitors agreed “they got more out of it than they put in.”(Photos by Sr. Michele Doyle) |
