Second Chatham Art Showcase
includes preview party April 20
JACKSON — St. Richard Parish announces its second annual Chatham Art Showcase is set for Friday and Saturday, April 20-21, in Foley Hall which is located at 1242 Lynnwood Dr..
Msgr. Josiah Chatham was the founding pastor of the parish and an art enthusiast, therefore the showcase bears his name, organizers said.
The showcase will present works by a group of artists and contemporary craftspeople from local, state and artistic circles.
Artists and their various mediums including oils by Cleta Ellington, Bren Gavin, Tom Harmon, George Holmes, Betty Horton, Diego Larguia, Ron Lindsey, Wanda Lowery, Buttons Marchetti, Herbert Mays, Susan McNamara, Lisa Paris, Jerrod Partridge, Jerrine Querin, Jean Seymour, and Yvette Sturgis.
Other artists and their mediums represented are Lisa Gant’s pottery, Mary Margaret Hickman’s mixed media mandalas, Stacy Kaiser’s mixed media collages, Dolores Ulmer’s mixed media medals and art.
Artists painting in acrylics include Bailey Brilley, Susan Cox Davis, Amanda Dunn, Salongo Lee, Ron Lindsey, Lesa Nuzzo, Blake Edward Thomas, and Helen Yoste. Jean Seymour, Helen Yoste, Janice Dean, Bill Wilson and Evelyn Bates will also bring watercolors.
The Art Showcase preview party, at which the collection may be first viewed, will be on Friday, April 20, from 6:30 - 9 p.m.
Julie Levanway’s “Fresh From The Flame” will be catering the event and entertainment will be provided by “Bill and Temperance.”
Tickets are $25 per person and must be purchased prior to the event. Make checks payable to St. Richard Catholic Church Chatham Art Showcase and mail to Janie Robbins, 1242 Lynnwood Dr., Jackson, MS 39206.
The gallery with free admission will be open to the public on Saturday, April 21, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Concessions will be provided by the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
