Adoption an alternative to abortion

JACKSON — Catholic Charities adoption services offer life and hope to countless children who might have otherwise faced death.
Abortion is not just a simple medical procedure. For many women, it is a life-changing event with significant physical, emotional, and spiritual consequences. Most women who struggle with past abortions say they wish they had been told all the facts about abortion.
Abortion does not solve any existing relationship problems nor will it hold together an unstable relationship. It is very common for relationships to break up shortly after an abortion.
Catholic Charities began placing children in homes in 1963 and has continued well past the ruling of Roe in 1973. Each year the Adoption & Maternity Services program with Catholic Charities helps children find homes. Catholic Charities commits itself to the philosophy that every child has a right to a permanent loving home.
Catholic Charities maternity services provide caring and hope during unplanned pregnancies by exploring choices and decision-making.
Confidential counseling is provided on alternatives to abortion, exploring family options, family support, and adoption services.
Referrals for medical care, housing assistance, and other resources are provided on a case-by-case basis. Help is just a phone call away. Catholic Charities staff can help women find answers. If you or someone you know is in need of crisis pregnancy services, call 1-800-844-8655.
