Bishop Latino designates
September 26 Catholic Charities’ Sunday
Catholic Charities USA will celebrate its 100th anniversary on Sept. 25, 2010. To recognize this significant anniversary and the many people who serve the Lord by ministering through Catholic Charities, I declare Sunday, Sept. 26, as Catholic Charities’ Sunday for the Diocese of Jackson.
I urge all parishes and missions to offer special intercessory prayers for the faithful staff of our local diocesan Catholic Charities as well as the national staff and for the people that Catholic Charities so generously assists with compassion and care. Catholic Charities strives to continually be the hands and face of Jesus Christ to so many in desperate need.
