Parishes prepare for vacation Bible schools
The following parishes are offering vacation Bible schools. Volunteers and donations of items are being sought by organizers.
Batesville St. Mary, July 30-31.
Clarksdale St. Elizabeth, June 7-11 from 8:30 - 11 a.m.
Cleveland Our Lady of Victories, “High Seas Expedition,” June 26-July 1, from 5:30 - 8 p.m. for children entering kindergarten through sixth grade.
Corinth St. James, “Saints: Heroes in Heaven,” June 28-July 1, from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. for five-year-olds through fifth- graders.
Flowood St. Paul, June 21-25.
Gluckstadt St. Joseph, Monday-Wednesday, June 14-16, from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. for children ages four through fourth grade.
Greenville Sacred Heart, June 7-11 from 8 a.m. - noon for children from K– eighth grade. Six sisters from Techny, Ill., will direct the Bible school.
The sisters would like to meet with all the teachers and aides on Saturday, June 5, at 10 a.m. in the parish hall and with all parents of the children attending Bible school on Sunday, June 6, at 5 p.m.
Greenville St. Joseph, “Sea Side with the Savior,” June 14-18 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. for four through 10-year-olds. Junior high and high school students will volunteer with activities.
Greenwood Immaculate Heart of Mary, July 12-16 from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be served. The Bible study is also for children from St. Francis Parish and students of St. Francis School.
Hernando Holy Spirit, “SonQuest Rain Forest,” June 14-18 for pre-K through fifth-graders. For information call Katherine Carroll, 662-429-2896.
Houston Immaculate Heart of Mary, “One Body, One Spirit,” July 6-9 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. for five-year-olds through fifth-graders. Sisters from St. John the Baptist Parish in Savage, Minn., will assist with the program.
Youth 14-18-year-old interested in helping with the Bible study are asked to attend an organizational meeting Monday, July 5, from 10 a.m. 4 p.m.
Indianola Immaculate Conception, June 7-11, from 8 a.m. - noon for first through eighth-graders.
Jackson St. Richard, “Circus of the Stars,” June 7-11, from 8:30 a.m. - noon for three-year-olds through sixth graders.
Fifth- and sixth-graders will be the captains of the circus and will perform skits, teach songs and assist with daily activities. For information call Allyson Harris, 601-366-2335.
Madison St. Francis of Assisi, “Son Harvest County Fair,” June 21-25 from 9 a.m. - noon for all kindergarten through fourth grade children. For information call Mary Catherine George, 601-856-5556.
McComb St. Alphonsus, June 7-11 from 9 a.m. - noon for three-year-old s through sixth-graders.
Meridian St. Patrick and St. Joseph, “Follow Jesus on a Life Changing Adventure” beginning June 21, at 8 a.m.
Natchez St. Mary, “High Seas Expedition,” June 7-11, for four-year-olds through fifth grade.
Cost is $20 for first child, $15 for second child and $10 for third child and more. Contact Melinda Laird, 601-442-6618.
Oxford St. John children from three year-olds through fifth graders will be traveling back to Egypt to follow Joseph’s journey from prison to the palace July 12-16 from 9 a.m. noon. Organizers need teen helpers and adult leaders, a decoration coordinator and a co-director ASAP.

Southaven Christ the King, “Spend a While on the Nile,” June 21-25, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. for kindergarten through fifth-graders. Registration forms can be found at the bulletin boards in the gathering space. Deadline to register is Sunday, June 6. Contact Donna Williamson, 662-342-107.
Starkville St. Joseph, June 7-11, from 8:30 -11:30 a.m. for four-year-olds through fourth-graders. Cost will be $10 per family. Contact the parish office 662-323-2257.
Tupelo St. James, “High Seas Adventure,” June 7-11. Register online. Volunteers are needed. The decoration of the place will be held Tuesday-Friday, June 1-4.
