Dwelling Place hosts retreats
BROOKSVILLE — The Dwelling Place has scheduled “Come to the Quiet” retreats for June 4-6, July 2-4 and Sept. 3-5. Participants experience God’s presence in silence and through personal and shared prayer with the community. Donation is $150.
The center also offers private retreats of any length of time and dates directed by Clare Van Lent, founder and spiritual director.
Van Lent invites people to come and “get away to be still and pray.’’
“The directed retreat is a perfect tool to do just that,” she said. “It is a personally guided prayer experience adapted to the individual. It is a time of quiet and prayerful reflection primarily using Scripture. Individual meets daily with the director for guidance and mutual discernment.”
Three- or five-day directed retreats are offered. Donation is $70 per day.
“Come and See” will be offered Friday and Saturday, July 16-17. It will be presented by community members and associates. Donation is $60.
A Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat for healing after abortion will be offered July 23-25. The retreat will combine discussion, spiritual exercises, the sacrament of reconciliation, a memorial service and a Mass of Resurrection.
Participation is strictly confidential and offers an opportunity to experience God’s love, forgiveness and compassion. For information or registration contact Maria Steele at 256-347-1569. Donation is $150. Financial assistance is available, if needed.
For information contact The Dwelling Place, 2824 Dwelling Place Road, Brooksville, MS 39739, 662-738-5348.
