Nobel Peace Prize nominee
speaks Saturday in Jackson

JACKSON — Kathy Kelly, a three-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee, peace activist, pacifist and Pax Christi honoree, will speak at St. Richard Parish Saturday, April 24, from 9 a.m. - noon in Glynn Hall. 
Her presentation on “Discipleship in a Time of War” will be followed by a panel discussion which includes Rev. Edward O’Connor, St. Andrews Episcopal rector; Dr. Thomas Kersen, assistant professor of sociology at Jackson State University; and Father Lincoln Dall, St. Richard associate pastor.
Kelly helped institute Voices in the Wilderness and recently helped coordinate the Voices for Creative Nonviolence which has deep roots in active nonviolent resistance to war.
Kelly, who was nominated for the Nobel Prize in 2000, 2001 and 2003, has a bachelor of arts from Loyola University in Chicago, a master of religious education and a doctor of theology honoris causa both from Chicago Theological Seminary.
She will also be the guest speaker at the parish’s Timely Topics Sunday, April 25, at 9:15 a.m.
