Six deaneries host enrichment workshops
JACKSON — The diocesan Office of Faith Formation will offer a faith enrichment workshop in each of the six deaneries in January 2009 for all those who participated in Season I of Why Catholic?. Participants will include catechists, Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) teams and catechumens, and all interested parishioners.
Parishes are asked to post a sign-up sheet for people to register to plan accordingly.
Alice Hughes, director of the Office of Faith Formation, said close to 5,000 people participated in Why Catholic? last fall. “This is truly the work of the Holy Spirit and we pray the Spirit continues to bless our diocese through this tremendous process,” she said.
Workshops will be held as follows:
— Deanery I, at Madison St. Joseph School gym, Saturday, Jan. 10, from 9 a.m. - noon
— Deanery II, Brookhaven St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Saturday, Jan. 10, from 2 - 5 p.m.
— Deanery III & IV, Greenwood St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Sunday, Jan. 11, from 3:30 - 6:30 p.m.
— Deanery V, New Albany St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Monday, Jan. 12, from 6 - 9 p.m.
— Deanery VI, Philadelphia Holy Rosary Parish, Tuesday, Jan. 13, from 6 - 9 p.m.
Why Catholic? Season II begins Feb. 1 with sign up Sunday; sessions begin Feb. 22.
A Why Catholic? retreat workshop will be held March 20-25.
