Matthew Kelly speaks in Clarksdale
CLARKSDALE — St. Elizabeth Parish will host Australian speaker and author Matthew Kelly Saturday, Dec. 5, at 7:30 p.m.
Kelly began his lay ministry in 1993 and has written 12 books which have appeared on the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestsellers list.
Kelly has spoken in over 50 countries and according to organizers, is considered one of the best speakers in the world. The majority of his work today is in the United States speaking to students from primary school through college, lay adults, priests and seminarians.
He also leads retreats both in the United States and abroad.
His presentation, “A Call to Joy,” will address how to make sense out of suffering and will reveal what he has learned along his spiritual journey and how, through his faith, he overcame the battle one finds oneself immersed in at one time or another.
Organizers said, he will share the deep, lasting joy he has found, the habits that got him there, and will show participants the way. The talk is for everyone. Ages 12 and up are welcome.
Joining him will be Eliot Morris, a young Catholic musician who has toured with many famous singers. His music will start at 7:30 p.m.
For information about his work visit him online.
