Marriage enrichment begins March 2
FLOWOOD — Catholic Charities Solomon Center will offer a new four- week marriage enrichment series based on the 30 years of research by Dr. John Gottman.
The sessions will be presented by therapists trained at the Gottman Institute in Seattle, Wash., on Mondays, March 2, 9, 23, and 30, from 6:30 – 8 p.m. at St. Paul Parish, 5971 Hwy 25.
The classes will teach couples how to protect their marriage from conflict and how to insure positive feelings and emotional connection.
Session I will deal with how to create and sustain a foundation of friendship in the marriage.
Session II, how to maintain positive feelings and prevent emotional disengagement.
Session III, how to regulate conflict in the marriage.
Session IV, how to create shared meaning.
Couples will need to attend together as the evening will consist of presentation, discussion and exercises that can strengthen and enrich the relationship. The cost is $25 per couple per session.
