Celebrating feast day in Mexico Cold weather clothing,
other needs in Saltillo
Dear Editor,
Hi from Saltillo....
Nice day here, supposed to be hot, and it is dry. But tomorrow the forecast is for below zero here in Saltillo, and that for two or three days.
If you are able, please try to begin to gather clothing for us ... sweaters, coats, jackets, blankets, etc. Father Benny and I have talked about the clothing we need, and when the groups come in the summer, etc., we really need to get clothing for cold weather.
It seems crazy in the hot summer to bring all the clothing we need in cold weather, but when the cold weather comes here, we do not have the clothing we need to give to people.
Baby clothes and children’s clothing are included in this need. Shorts we never need. T-shirts we can use pretty much all the time. Summer clothing is fine, but no halter tops or “brief” attire for girls or women.
Today is the feast of San Juan Diego, (Dec. 9) and since I know some of you are not familiar with the story of Our Lady of Guadalupe and San Juan Diego, I am including a website where you can find the famous Nican Mopohua, the narration of the four apparitions of Our Lady.
Perhaps your trips here to Saltillo and your knowledge of the events of Dec. 9 - 12, 1531, will help others to appreciate the importance of this event for all the Americas and for our fellow Catholics and non-Catholics in the USA.
