Retreat set for lay ministers
JACKSON — A Retreat for Lay Ecclesial Ministers and Pastoral Ministers will be held at Our Lady of the Pines Retreat Center in Chatawa, from Oct. 27-30, according to Msgr. Elvin Sunds, vicar general of the Diocese of Jackson.
The retreat will begin with the first conference at 7 p.m. on Monday and conclude Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
Conducting the retreat will be Father Donald Blanchard, a retired priest from the Diocese of Baton Rouge who directs retreats and parish missions, and Candy Muse, pastoral associate at St. Aloysius Parish in Baton Rouge.
The retreat was requested in January 2008 at a meeting of lay ecclesial ministers and pastoral ministers.
Cost is $240 for a single occupancy room and $210 for a double occupancy room.
