Tournament benefits victims
of abuse trust honoring Linda Raff
JACKSON — The 2008 Bishop’s Cup Golf Tournament, Wednes
day, Sept. 10, will help establish the new Catholic Charities Victims of Abuse Trust with the Catholic Foundation in honor of Linda Raff, recently retired executive director of Catholic Charities Inc.
Raff worked 29 years for Charities “tirelessly carrying out the mission of Catholic Charities to be a visible sign of Christ’s love,” the trust stated. “This trust also recognizes Linda’s 14 years of steadfast leadership of Catholic Charities as its executive director and her commitment to prevent the abuse of children and adults.”
Donations can be made directly, playing the tournament, or attending the social and dinner and bidding on the live and silent auctions or the bag raffle.
Individual players pay $175 each, which includes cart and green fee, social and dinner for the player and a ticket for door prizes.
Check-in begins at 10:30 a.m. The shotgun start for stroke play starts at 12:30 p.m. For persons wishing to attend only the social and dinner which costs $40.
