Course looks at life in pluralistic society JACKSON — “Christian Social Ethics,” Spring Hill College’s spring course, will explore a number of issues that arise for Christians as they live out their lives in contemporary, pluralistic society.
Matthew Bagot, a faculty member from England, will focus the course in three areas: the theoretical question of how the church might engage the world, the role that the church might play in American public life, and examine global issues such as economic development, human rights, migration, war and peace, the recent “globalization” of ethics, and the HIV/AIDS crisis.
Classes will be held on Saturdays, March 1, 15, 29, April 12, 19, and May 3, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Madison St. Joseph Catholic High School, 308 New Mannsdale Road.
Cost is $765. The application fee is waived for online submissions. Easy listening tuition is $150 and allows first-time students to take one course with no transcribed record kept.
Spring Hill College programs available through the Jackson site include graduate, undergraduate, and certificates programs. Additional programs in theological studies are available at the main campus in Mobile, Ala.
