Special Mass on Dec. 2 honors
anniversaries of men, women religious

JACKSON – Bishop Joseph Latino will celebrate a special Mass honoring the Consecrated Life on Sunday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle.
Last year, Bishop Latino initiated this annual Mass on the first Sunday of Advent to honor those men and women who have devoted their lives to Christ and the church in this unique and profound way.
During the Mass Bishop Latino will recognize men and women religious who are celebrating special anniversaries of 40, 50, and 60 years in the consecrated life. All men and women religious will have the opportunity to participate in a short symbolic ceremony to recommit themselves to ministry.
Bishop Latino invites all women and men religious, their families and friends to the Mass. According to organizers this is an excellent opportunity for individuals to show support for all the sisters and brothers who have served and continue to serve the Diocese of Jackson through the gifts of the consecrated life.
Men and women religious celebrating special anniversaries are asked to contact Sister Deborah Hughes, director of the Department of Formational Services, 601-969-1880, or deborah.hughes@jacksondiocese.org.
