Journey of Hope set for October JACKSON — More than 400 community friends, supporters, directors, and volunteers are expected to attend Catholic Charities’ annual fundraiser luncheon, Journey of Hope, on Tuesday, Oct. 30, from noon – 1 p.m. at the Telecom Center in Downtown Jackson.
“Our aim with Journey of Hope is to inspire guests to join in Catholic Charities mission — To be a visible sign of Christ’s love,” development director Rebecca Harris said. “By becoming involved, whether through volunteerism or a donation, you provide help, which in turn creates hope in the lives of those in need.”
Lunch is provided free of charge to those in attendance. People of all faiths are encouraged to come and learn what Catholic Charities is about, as 85 percent of those served through Catholic Charities Jackson’s (CCJ’s) programs are from faiths other than Catholicism.
Celebrated during the luncheon will be the accomplishments of 2006, future focuses of CCJ programs, and testimonials from clients who have experienced the mission of Catholic Charities first hand. The monies raised during this event will support all the programs of Catholic Charities in Jackson, Natchez, and Northeast Mississippi.
To attend, contact Rebecca Harris at rebecca.harris@catholiccharitiesjackson. org 601-326-3714, as seating is limited.
If you are interested in becoming involved, you may: volunteer to be a table captain by inviting 10 of your friends to this free lunch; attend the luncheon; or help sponsor the luncheon at the levels of $1,000, $750, $500, or $250.
