Volunteers needed for work trips
JACKSON — The Long Term Recovery program of Catholic Charities needs your help.
Since July 2006, 14 work trips to Biloxi, Gulfport, Pascagoula, Pearlington, Walthall County, Waveland, and Bay St. Louis have been made. Ninety-six volunteers have put in over 1800 hours to help with the recovery efforts, but more help is needed.
Volunteers help to clean hurricane ravaged homes as well as help to rebuild damaged properties. All skill levels are needed, especially those with knowledge in home building and repair.  Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.
Meals and lodging will be provided.  Volunteers are responsible for their own transportation but Catholic Charities can help facilitate carpooling.  All denominations are welcome.
The next round of work trips are:
      — Sept. 19 - 23
      — Oct. 24 - 28
      — Nov. 7-11
      — Dec. 12-16
To join a work trip, contact Theresa Prejean at 601-326-3758.
