Sister Elizabeth Niemann dies in Dubuque DUBUQUE, Iowa — Former Clarksdale educator Sister Mary Elizabeth Niemann, BVM (St. Theodore), 91, died July 27, at Marian Hall, Dubuque, Iowa.
A Mass of Christian Burial was to be celebrated Aug. 2. Burial took place at Mount Carmel cemetery.
Sister Niemann taught and was secretary at Immaculate Conception School, Clarksdale, 1979-84. She was also an educator in Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Missouri, and Tennessee, and a staff member of Shantivanam House of Prayer, Easton, Kansas.
She is survived by her sisters, Anne Houck and Marcelline Niemann, and brothers, Paul and John Niemann.
Memorials may be given to the Sisters of Charity, BVM Retirement Fund.
