Bishop’s brother Anthony dies in Metairie, La.
       JACKSON — With faith in eternal life, Bishop Joseph Latino announces the death of his brother, Anthony John Latino, 76, who died after a lengthy illness on Monday, June 25, in Metairie, La. Latino is survived by his wife, Loretta, and five sons.
       Bishop Latino was the principal celebrant of a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, June 27, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Metairie. Concelebrants included Archbishop Alfred Hughes of New Orleans and Archbishop Oscar Lipscomb of Mobile, Bishops William Houck of Jackson and Thomas Rodi of Biloxi and about 20 priests from Mississippi and Louisiana.
       Anthony Latino was the son of John Peter Latino and Theresa Rizzuto Latino and husband of Loretta Fiorella Latino for 51 years. He was the father of John, Anthony, Martin, Joseph, and Paul and father-in-law of Hope Sherlock Latino, the late Donna Palermo Latino, Shelly Grimm Latino, Jan Scardino Latino, Lisa Culotta Latino, and Renee Cangelosi Latino.
       He left behind two brothers, Laura Ramirez Latino and Bishop Latino. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and is the grandfather of Dominic, Michael, Theresa, Benjamin, Mathew, Shelby, Marti, Christian, and Lauren Latino.
       Relatives and friends of the family as well as members and employees of the Southern Yacht Club and the Contessa Entellina Society were invited to a wake service on        Wednesday, June 27, at Jacob Schoen Funeral Home on Canal Street.
       Visitation was also held at 10 a.m. on Thursday and interment was at Metairie Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the American Leukemia Society.        An online guest register is available at www.legacy.com.
