Women’s Conference reaches out
to those who want to grow in love

CLARKSDALE — The second Women’s Conference sponsored by St. Elizabeth Parish is set for Friday-Sunday, Feb. 9-11.
This conference is for all women “who want to grow in their love and knowledge of the Catholic faith,” said Valerie Britt, one of the organizers.
Guest speakers include Johnnette Benkovic, founder and president of Living His Life Abundantly International Inc., a Catholic evangelization apostolate with outreaches in television, radio, print, and Internet communications.
Doug Barry, founder of a Catholic ministry called RADIX. He will present the one-man drama, “The Passion of Christ,” portraying the life and death of Christ. Britt said RADIX’s goal is to present the Catholic faith in a clear and enthusiastic manner, using drama, music, comedy and history. “The organization challenges and encourages families to embrace their Catholic faith.”
Tim Staples, who works full time in Catholic apologetics and evangelization and was raised a Southern Baptist, will also make a presentation.
Lynn Mondt and members of her music ministry will be leading praise and worship for the conference.
Britt said because of the response of the first women’s conference held in April 2006, a second conference was thought.
Over 140 women from Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, and California gathered in Clarksdale last year for a weekend of teaching, fellowship, food, fun, and music. “Most importantly, it was a weekend where Catholic women grew in their love of their Catholic faith, Britt said.
The cost of the weekend is $60 per person and includes lunch and dinner on Saturday and a continental breakfast on Saturday. Housing will be in local hotels, which include the Best Western, 662-627-9292, Comfort Inn, 662-627-5112, and Econo Lodge, 662-621-1110. For information call Valerie Britt at 662-627-1823; Valerie_britt1@hotmail.com.
