Pro-Life memorials planned in Mississippi

       JACKSON — Several prayer memorial services to commemorate the Sanctity of Human Life Week, observed Jan. 14-22, have been planned this year.
     Pro-Life Mississippi will hold its annual Candlelight Prayer Vigil “Moved With Compassion,” a memorial service for unborn babies and their mothers, at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, in the Capitol rotunda. For information call Angela Grogan, 601-956-8636, or visit www.prolifemississippi.org.
     In Columbus, the Lowndes County Right to Life Society is sponsoring a pro-life candlelight prayer vigil on Sunday, Jan. 21, at 4:30 p.m. in front of the Lowndes County Courthouse. For information call the Lowndes County Right to Life Society, 662-327-6006.
     In Natchez, St. Mary Basilica and Pro-Life Natchez-Adam County are sponsoring a candlelight vigil service at the gazebo on the bluff Monday, Jan. 22, at 5:30 p.m. The Knights of Columbus and the Ladies Auxiliary, along with other supporters of life, are arranging a memorial display of 4,000 small blue and pink flags representing the 4,000 pre-born babies destroyed daily in the United States by abortion. The flags will be on display on the bluff until Sunday, Jan. 28. Several local pastors will participate in the prayer vigil.
     In Olive Branch, Queen of Peace parishioners will recite the rosary on the front lawn of the church Sunday, Jan. 21, from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. This event is sponsored by Queen of Peace Right to Life Ministry.
     SAV-A-LIFE of Tupelo will hold a prayer service Tuesday, Jan. 23, at 6:30 p.m. at Lawndale Presbyterian Church. All supporters and churches are invited to help with the celebration of life. For information call 662-841-1517.
     In Southaven, Christ the King Parish will pray a bilingual rosary Monday, Jan. 22, at 7 p.m. to honor life and the unborn. All parishioners are invited.
